FAMO vs. FAMU
In the beginning of December 2010 in Prague art cinema „Oko“ our movies „Fast Arrows“ and „Automatic for the People“ competed with school movies of students of Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. The third year of this traditional competition won our student Jan Vejnar with „Automatic for the People“.
Succes in Ostrava-Picture 2010 and Aerokraťas 2010
In The International Student Film Festival in Ostrava, Czech Republic short movies of our students Jiří Sádek and Matěj Pichler, „Neříkej hop.“ and „Fast Arrows“, were awarded with Audience Award.
„Neříkej hop.“ was also awarded with the Honorable mention.
"Neříkej hop." and "Fatal Failure" of student Jan Vejnar also gained 2. and 3. award in the cathegory „Proffesional motion picture“ on the prestigieous competition „Aerokraťas 2010“ in Prague art cinema Aero.
„Fatal Failure“ succesfully screened on „Fresh Film Fest“
Jan Vejnar´s short movie „Fatal Failure“ took part of the section „Heroes“ in the 7the year of the prestigeous International Festival of Debutes and Student Films „Fresh Film Fest“ in Prague.
"Adam" in Lithuania
The student document "Adam" is taking part of the programme of The Vilnius film shorts 2010 Festival in Lithuania, it is in the final selection.
Movies "Adam" and "Cecílie" were selected to the main competition.
Student movies "Adam" and "Cecílie" was selected to the main competition on L´Inconnu Festival 2010 in France.
The "Adam" movie on the One World Film Festival
The movie "Adam" from the director Tomáš Elšík was selected to the international film festival about the human rights One World 2010 in Prague.
Success in Poland
Our students took part on the 13th International film festival "ZOOM - ZBLIŹENIA 2010" in Jelenia Góra, Poland. Student of FAMO Jan Chramosta won among 82 movies from the whole world 2 awards for his movie "Little Prague Mermaid": The Audition Award The Special Jury Award

The Main prize in the category "Stories" - Ostrava picture 2009 for director Jan Chramosta.
Awarded on the Festival of student films in categories "Best Cinematography" and "Creative Vision" on the festival NO LIMITS in Sheffield, Great Britain.
Participation in the "Kodak scholarship programme" 2010.
"Ecphronia"
The main award on the FAST fest festival 2009 in Mladá Boleslav for the movie of Mikoláš Orlický.
FAMO celebrated 25.anniversary of ERASMUS
10. and 11.5.2012 FAMO celebrated the 25.anniversary of the EU program of student exchanges Erasmus. Besides presentation meeting and informations about this program and his history at FAMO there were also FAMO students awarded for best photographs from their Erasmus exchanges.

FAMO students awarded at 11. International Student Film Festival Písek 2011
6.-9.10. Písek hosted the 11. International Student Film Festival Písek 2011, where FAMO students were extremely succesful. Our students Jan Vejnar, Jiří Sádek and Katarína Dedičová won five awards for their school movies. Jan Vejnar with his wonderful "Automatic for the People" won the Grand Prix and it is another triumph for him from another international competition. Congratulations to all!

Czech Lion for chief of Film edit department
Alois Fišárek, the Head of FAMO film edit department was awarded with prestigeous Czech film award called „Czech Lion“ which was held in the beginning of March 2011 in Prague. Mr. Fišárek, long-time collaborator of director Jan Svěrák and editor of Academy award winner, the movie „Kolja“, was awarded for his editing of the new Svěrák´s movie, original family movie „Kuky se vrací“.

Antonio Riestra was awarded for Best Cinematography
One of our longtime special IFS tutor, the Mexican cinematographer Antonio Riestra, was awarded just a few weeks ago with one of the most prestigeous European film award, Spanish award Goya. He was awarded for the Best cinematography of the highly acclaimed Spanish/Catalan drama called "Pa Negre" by director Augustí Villaronga.

„Automatic for the People“ on the representative DVD with Best Czech Short Films Jan Vejnar and his movie „Automatic for the People“ was embedded in the menu of DVD Czech Short Films, released by Czech Film Centre. The representative DVD with choice of 15 short films, chosen by jury of film specialists, will be offered to more than 50 international film festivals and to film proffesionals over the world.

Our students collaborates with Czech Television Three students of FAMO, Martin Kopp, Jan Chramosta and Vojtěch Moravec, shot for Czech Television TV adaptations of three detective tales, written by famous Czech classic writer Karel Capek. It is the unique opportunity, given by big broadcasting company to young filmmakers.
