Significant designer and director of animated movies. As an indepentend artist he collaborates with inland and foreign production companies and institutions. Author of many awarded short movies for adults and children. Also succesful newspaper, magazine and book illustrator. Since 1996 Head of Department of Animation in the Film Academy of Miroslav Ondricek

Sound master, who is engaged in the various fields of audiovisual culture. Besides continual cooperation with most of major TV companies in the Czech Republic, he works for significant theatrical companies. Specialist on the live broadcasted TV shows.

One of the most important and experienced Czech cinematographers. His specialization is TV cinematography and documentary, scientific and reportage movies. He is the visual creator of many TV shows and documentary series. He also collaborated on the famous Czech multigenre projects, that combines theatrical and film components, as Laterna Magica or Jiri Srnec Black Theatre Company.

The independent and engaged sound master, specialist in screen movies sound technology. Member of several international movie sound associations.

The important film and television editor. Collaborated on several prestigeous documentary and publicistic TV series and internationally awarded dramas.

Composer, broadcast redactor and prospecting music director. He cooperated on many audiorecords with important Czech ensembles, especially from the field of classical music.

The notable specialist in film and broadcasting technologies, editing softwares and technology of film editing composition

Native to the U.S. and educated amidst Europe, her background in architecture and interior design evolved cinematically into production design for film and television, focusing on mise-en-scéne; from script to stage.

Czech documentarist and dramaturgian, active in international context. She is also educated in film history and theory of documentary.


FAMO celebrated 25.anniversary of ERASMUS
10. and 11.5.2012 FAMO celebrated the 25.anniversary of the EU program of student exchanges Erasmus. Besides presentation meeting and informations about this program and his history at FAMO there were also FAMO students awarded for best photographs from their Erasmus exchanges.

FAMO students awarded at 11. International Student Film Festival Písek 2011
6.-9.10. Písek hosted the 11. International Student Film Festival Písek 2011, where FAMO students were extremely succesful. Our students Jan Vejnar, Jiří Sádek and Katarína Dedičová won five awards for their school movies. Jan Vejnar with his wonderful "Automatic for the People" won the Grand Prix and it is another triumph for him from another international competition. Congratulations to all!

Czech Lion for chief of Film edit department
Alois Fišárek, the Head of FAMO film edit department was awarded with prestigeous Czech film award called „Czech Lion“ which was held in the beginning of March 2011 in Prague. Mr. Fišárek, long-time collaborator of director Jan Svěrák and editor of Academy award winner, the movie „Kolja“, was awarded for his editing of the new Svěrák´s movie, original family movie „Kuky se vrací“.

Antonio Riestra was awarded for Best Cinematography
One of our longtime special IFS tutor, the Mexican cinematographer Antonio Riestra, was awarded just a few weeks ago with one of the most prestigeous European film award, Spanish award Goya. He was awarded for the Best cinematography of the highly acclaimed Spanish/Catalan drama called "Pa Negre" by director Augustí Villaronga.

„Automatic for the People“ on the representative DVD with Best Czech Short Films Jan Vejnar and his movie „Automatic for the People“ was embedded in the menu of DVD Czech Short Films, released by Czech Film Centre. The representative DVD with choice of 15 short films, chosen by jury of film specialists, will be offered to more than 50 international film festivals and to film proffesionals over the world.

Our students collaborates with Czech Television Three students of FAMO, Martin Kopp, Jan Chramosta and Vojtěch Moravec, shot for Czech Television TV adaptations of three detective tales, written by famous Czech classic writer Karel Capek. It is the unique opportunity, given by big broadcasting company to young filmmakers.
